It's like I'm having my own personal crying game

Jul. 8th, 2004 01:40 am Those brave Krakatoans, east of Java, who sacrificed so much for so long

Tonight my girlfriend and I watched Seinfeld together. It was Season Three, Episode Two. That's right! You guessed it, "The Truth".

This episode is very funny. Jerry is being audited by the IRS for donating money to a fraudulent charity (The Krakatoan Volcano Relief Fund). Lucky for Jerry, George happens to be dating an ex-IRS agent, but then she becomes his ex-girlfriend after he tells her that she is pretentious. Meanwhile, Kramer sees Elaine naked because he is dating her roommate. This episode is particularly significant because it marks the genesis of Kramer's fascination with Coffee Tables as he finds a windshield in the street and declares he's going to make a coffee table out of it which he and Elaine's roommate eventually fall on, injuring both of them. George then finds out that his ex-girlfriend (the pretentious IRS agent) has checked into a depression clinic so Jerry and George go out to the clinic and try and get Jerry's tax papers back. We never find out the results of th tax audit, but really, who cares? As always it was hilarious.

One of the particularly amusing moments is when George tells his girlfriend the truth:

George: The TRUTH?! You want the TRUTH?! It IS your earrings! It is the chopsticks but it's so much more! You're pretentious! You call everyone by their full name! You call my doorman, Sammy, "Samuel" but you didn't even say "Samuel", you went "SamuELLE"! Papie-ay Mach-ay? What IS PAPIE-AY MACH-AY?!

PAPIE-AY MACH-AY, ahhhh, that's priceless!!

Watching Seinfeld with my special lady makes me feel really great. We laugh, we cry, we drink cheap vodka with expired grapefruit juice.

And remember, who so belongs only to his age, references only popenjays and mumbo jumbos.
